Iceland in Winter

Curious about traveling to Iceland in winter? We've got you covered! Angela and Alan are sharing all the nitty-gritty details of their winter escapade, breaking down the costs for you. From cozy stays to snowstorm drives and stunning waterfalls, we're spilling the beans on every expense. Join us on our budget journey, as we show you how much your Iceland winter adventure could cost without burning a hole in your pocket. Get ready for an honest and transparent look at what it really costs to experience the magic of Iceland in the chillier months!

Things to bear in mind:

  • We travelled at Christmas, one of the LEAST budget friendly times of the year to travel.
  • Our kids chose the accommodation.  This was by far our biggest expense.  Cheaper accommodation is available but this was our Christmas gift to them.
  • We were self catering: Eating out is Iceland is pricey. Cooking for yourself makes your food budget much more manageable. We did stop at bakeries for coffees and sandwiches, and had a lunch out in Reykjavic, but for the most part it was home cooked food.
